Proton Exora: Protection Detail

A brand new car in for a quick protection detail only.

The wheel wells were clean and had dressing applied from the dealer, so I didn’t bother cleaning them and just hosed off loose dirt.

The wheels were cleaned with Meguiar’s Wheel Brightener (diluted 10:1), stickers and tar removed with Osren Tar Remover.

Then the whole car is washed with Osren Bubble wash shampoo and paint smoothed with an Osren Magic Cloth.

Dried with an Autoglym Aquadry.

Jeff’s Werkstatt Prime:Acrylic is applied with an old Meguiar’s w-8006 polishing pad via ROB to cleanse the paint and leave a base of sealant.

Not much dirt was pulled out of the paint as the pad was pretty much clean after the whole car.

While waiting for it to dry, Rain-X was applied with an old homemade microfibre pad to the side windows and mirrors. Autoglym Glass Polish applied to front, rear and inside glass.

At this point, the layer of JW Prime:acrylic is buffed off and one coat of Finish Kare 1000P is applied by hand. While waiting for that to dry(which didn’t take long), door jambs sealed with JW Prime:acrylic, wheels cleansed and sealed with JW Prime:acrylic followed by Poorboy’s Wheel Sealant.

Interior upholstery plastic is removed and two light coats of 3M Scotchgard upholstery protectant is sprayed on.

FK1000P is then buffed off and here are the results, I apologize if you feel claustrophobic when viewing the pics as I didn’t get any full shots of the car.

That’s all folks! Thanks for looking 🙂

p.s This would be the beginning of another hiatus for my final packed semester, see you in a few months. I will probably update once in a while but there won’t be anymore car details for now. Till next time!
